Madras University B.Ed Correspondence: 31 August 2023 is the last date to apply for University of Madras B.Ed correspondence for session 2023-24. The portal for distance BEd is now live at @www.ideunom.ac.in.Â
Stretching for 24 years, the Institute of Distance Education of Madras University decided to reinstate distance B.Ed course for interested students. The process was initiated by former vice-chancellor, P Durisamy, in the year 2017 which failed due to certain regularity issues.Â
Once the concerned problems were resolved, the Covid-10 pandemic came into action which made the admission process further delayed. The current Vice-Chancellor, S. Gowri stated that Madras University will conduct B.Ed admission biannually, in September and January. A total of 1000 seats would be made available for the B.Ed program and classes held in online mode.
Students can apply for admission by visiting the official website at www.unom.ac.in before 31 August 2023. Students belonging to different fields can apply for these courses to enhance their knowledge in the field of teaching. The curriculum covers important topics like Biological Science, English, Computer science, History, Economics, etc based on electives opted by individuals.Â
Distance BEd program will include counseling sessions, offline courses, workshops, etc which will improve the teaching-learning experience. The officials have stated that attending workshops and internships is made mandatory for students opting for these courses at Madras University.Â
